I am a 31 year old producer / DJ from southern Oregon.
I'm no noob to car audio, I been around here for years.
I have done prob 15+ installs for friends in the last 3 years, latest install was 2 sets of orion cobalt components on a 75 x 2 MTX amp and an Audioque 1200.1 on some old school sony ES 12" in a prefab bandpass enclosure, he is upgrading to single 15" audioque 2.5 ported setup next month. 1 guage big 3 upgrade, no problems with the 1200.1 barely gets warm.

its got 2 pac vocals here and there, and an old school sounding wobble with tons of bass, watch out for the bassline...

I bought a used 2011 Mustang GT which came with what is called a Shaker 500 system. From what I can tell, it's just the standard OEM speakers + two 8" subwoofers custom-fit to the door.

The problem is (aside from just not liking the system) that I brought over my 12" JL W6V2 and amp from my old car and had a custom box made for my trunk. This eradicated my need for the two door subs (mine sounds much more clean and louder). The car also has 6.75" speakers on each door. Now, I'm looking to buy a component set. However, I'm torn between getting the midranges as 6.75" or 8". Then, what would I do with the other empty slot?

The big black one is the Shaker sub, and the other is inside the door behind a mesh.

i'm pretty new when it comes to these kind of things, but i'm trying to install a sony xplod into my tahoe.. i managed to get the bose radio pulled out, etc.. you have to hardwire the xplod because the bose was completely different. i'm not sure which wire goes to which. my brother-in-law and i tried wiring it after finding some wiring diagrams for 2003+ tahoe models, but they didn't match? so i'm not exactly sure what to do. if someone could give me any sort of step-by-step, advice, maybe a legitimate bose system wiring diagram, that would be very helpful.

I can not get nowhere near that. I get about 33 vAC. I even bought a RCA Line Driver kinda bump up the pre-amp a little. The line driver is even turned all the way up. I got an increase but not to where is should be at. I have my amp connected to my line out of my head unit. From there I have a RCA line signal booster going to the amp. I unplugged the bass level control and set all the amp levels to min. test with 60hz tone on repeat on CD. Even if I turn gain and bass boost all the way up I get about 33 vAC. Any suggestions? I am having a problem with my 6.5" mid woofer bottoming out when I turn my volume up. I have tried turning gains down and adjusting the crossover for higher frequency to try to help out but all that is happening is i am loosing sound and bass.
I was wondering if it would be possible to wire another 6.5" woofer to the same crossover and have them share the power. I was installing my Sony Xplode deck into my 95 oldsmobile delta 88 and We had to rewire the connector as the 88s deck had extra stuff that isn't on most decks.

We had it all wired up, got the deck display working, then (idiot me) I either tugged a bit hard or hit the deck on the side (not very hard). suddenly the display went out. There is still power as I can insert and eject cds.


AAAAND here is the kicker, I took it to my buddys car, and i plugged it in an boom, display worked.
